The Reality of God’s Word

Scripture: 1 John 3:1a

Reflection: It is easy to look in the mirror and only see our flaws, our failures, and our shortcomings. We often let our feelings or the opinions of others dictate our identity. However, God’s Word is the ultimate reality. Just as He spoke light into existence, He speaks your identity into existence today. When God calls you His child in the water of baptism, that is exactly what you are. Your sainthood is not based on your performance, but on His declaration over your life through Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for speaking truth over my life. Help me to silence the voices of doubt and shame, and to rest in the reality that I am Your beloved child. Amen.

Application: What is one negative label you need to replace with God’s truth about who you are today?
