Keep Listening to Jesus

Scripture: John 8:31–32

Jesus describes His disciples as people who continue in His Word. Discipleship is more than remembering something we learned long ago or agreeing with a set of beliefs. It means remaining close to Jesus, listening to Him, and learning from Him day by day. We need His Word not only for special occasions, but also in the ordinary moments when worry, frustration, or temptation threatens to direct our lives.

God’s Word is not merely information to store away. Through it, the Holy Spirit brings us back to Jesus and His promises. As we hear and read Scripture, God continually shapes our understanding, renews our trust, and teaches us to live as His disciples.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, keep me close to Your Word. When I become distracted or rely only on what I already know, turn my attention back to You. Teach me to listen and follow You today. Amen.

Application question: What simple habit could help you make regular room to hear or read Jesus’ Word?
