Say Yes to the Invitation

Scripture: Revelation 19:6-9

Jesus ends His parable with the words, “Many are called, but few are chosen.” These words are not meant to leave us paralyzed by fear. They urge us to respond to the invitation God has placed before us to enter His celebration clothed with the forgiveness of Jesus.

God wants us with Him. He wants us to enter His joy. He wants to give us life in His Son. The invitation is not based on our ability to become good enough. Christ provides the garment. Christ provides the forgiveness. Christ makes us ready. So the proper response is not anxiety about whether we are chosen or not–the promise of God given to us in baptism is a sure sign that He has chosen us. We respond to that promise and God’s gracious invitation with a faith that says, “Yes!”

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me into the joy and life You give through Jesus. Keep my heart from distraction, pride, and fear. Help me receive Your grace with faith and gladly live as one who belongs to You. Amen.

Application:
What is one concrete way you can say “yes” to God’s invitation this week through your time, attention, worship, or service?
