Beyond Our Comfort Zone
Scripture: Hebrews 10:24-25
Being invited to a royal wedding feast would be a great honor, but it would naturally require us to leave the comfort of home and join other people in celebration. In the same way, following Jesus often moves us beyond solo comforts. Faith is not merely a private idea about God; God gathers His people together around His Word and Sacraments.
It can be tempting to prefer a faith practiced entirely on our own terms. But Jesus invites us into a community of people who need His grace just as much as we do. Church may sometimes require effort, patience, and even discomfort, but God uses His gathered people to encourage us, strengthen us, and point us again to Christ.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for gathering me into Your Church. Help me move beyond my desire for comfort and gladly receive the encouragement, fellowship, and grace You provide through Your people. Amen.
Application:
Is there a way God may be calling you to move beyond your comfort zone in order to encourage or serve someone else?
