Faithful With What We Have Been Given

Scripture: 1 Peter 4:10

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.

A steward does not simply hold on to what the owner provides. A faithful steward puts those gifts to good use. God entrusts each of us with different resources, abilities, opportunities, relationships, and responsibilities. These gifts are not ultimately for our own glory. They are opportunities to serve others and reflect God’s love.

This applies to every part of life. Our time can serve others. Our possessions can meet needs. Our abilities can bless our neighbors. Our place in the church can contribute to the work God is doing. Faithful stewardship is not about earning God’s favor; it is our response to the grace we have already received in Christ.

Prayer:
Generous God, thank You for every gift You have entrusted to me. Show me how I can use my time, abilities, possessions, and opportunities to serve others. Keep me from seeking my own glory, and use my life to reflect Your generosity. Amen.

Application Question:
What gift or resource has God entrusted to you that you could use more intentionally to serve someone else this week?
