Trusting the Owner
Scripture: Matthew 6:31–33
Therefore do not be anxious, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” … But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Being a tenant in God’s world means that we are not ultimately responsible for keeping everything secure. We are responsible for faithful stewardship, but God remains the owner. That distinction brings freedom.
We naturally become anxious when we think everything depends on us. We worry about losing possessions, opportunities, security, or control. But God the owner is still on the throne. The God who gave His Son for us will not abandon us in the daily details of life. We can work faithfully while trusting Him with the results.
Prayer:
Faithful Lord, I confess that I often act as though everything depends upon me. Forgive my anxiety and strengthen my trust. Help me faithfully care for what You have entrusted to me while resting in the confidence that You will provide for me. Amen.
Application Question:
What concern about your future or your possessions do you need to place more fully into God’s hands?
