The Gift of Regret

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 7:10

“For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret.”

Regret can be painful because it requires us to admit that we were wrong. We may wish we could erase something we said or did. Yet regret does not have to be wasted. When it leads us to repentance, it can become a gift—an opportunity to recognize a sinful pattern and choose a new way forward.

Our past sins are real, but they do not have the final word. In Jesus, forgiveness means that our failures are no longer fatal. God can use even the painful realization of our mistakes to teach us, reshape us, and draw us closer to Him.

Prayer:
Merciful God, help me face my regrets honestly without becoming trapped by them. Lead me to repentance, to receive Your forgiveness, and to learn from my failures so that I may walk in a new way. Amen.

Application:
Is there a regret from your past that you need to bring honestly before God and allow Him to use as an opportunity for growth?
