A New Life of Peace
Scripture: Colossians 3:12–15
Reflection
A fresh start in Christ is not merely something we receive; it becomes a new way of life. Because Jesus has forgiven us, we are free to become people who forgive. Because He has made peace with us, we can pursue peace with others. Because He has released us from our debt, we can stop demanding that everyone around us repay what they owe us.
This is the life of someone who belongs to Jesus. We will not do it perfectly. Forgiving people can be difficult, and some wounds take time to heal. But the direction of our lives is shaped by the cross. We return again and again to the mercy of Christ, and from that mercy we learn to extend mercy to others. Every day is another opportunity to live as people who have been set free.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for giving me a fresh start through Your forgiveness. Make me a person of peace, patience, compassion, and grace. When I am hurt, remind me of the mercy I have received from You. Help me forgive freely and bear the cost of forgiveness with grace. Amen.
