You Are Free

Scripture: Romans 8:1–2

Reflection
It is easy to hear the announcement of forgiveness without allowing it to sink deeply into our hearts. We know the words: Jesus forgives sins. But the Gospel invites us to stop and recognize what that actually means. The shameful thought God already knows? Forgiven. The hurtful word? Forgiven. The good we failed to do? Forgiven. The sin we wish no one else knew about? In Christ, forgiven.

This is not a theoretical freedom. Jesus really has set you free. His death on the cross is the reason we can hear God’s word of forgiveness and receive His gifts with confidence. We do not have to spend our lives trying to earn back what we owe God. The debt has been paid. We belong to Christ.

Prayer
Jesus, thank You for setting me free from the condemnation of my sin. When shame and guilt return, remind me of Your cross and Your promise of forgiveness. Help me to live today not as a prisoner of my past, but as someone who belongs to You. Amen.
