Abounding in Hope

Scripture: Romans 15:13

As we reach the end of Paul’s teaching, we return to his prayer: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing.” This is the kind of people God desires us to be—people who abound in hope because we trust His promises and live by the power of the Holy Spirit.

And our hope is bigger than simply making it to heaven someday. We hope for God’s work among His people here and now. We hope that He will unite His church, teach us to welcome one another, give us perseverance in our relationships, and show the world what it looks like for people to be one in Christ. That is a hope worth living for.

Prayer:
God of hope, fill me with joy and peace as I believe Your promises. Make me a person who brings hope rather than despair, welcome rather than rejection, perseverance rather than division, and love rather than self-service. Unite Your church in Christ and use us to show the world Your love. Amen.

Application:
What is one concrete way you can help bring greater hope, welcome, perseverance, or unity to your family, church, or community this week?
