Welcome as Christ Welcomed You
Scripture: Romans 15:7
Paul gives the church a simple but profound command: “Welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you.” Jesus’ ministry repeatedly showed this welcoming love. He received tax collectors, sinners, and outsiders—people whom others were ready to reject.
To welcome someone does not mean agreeing with everything they believe or every decision they make. It means receiving them, making room for them, and treating them as a person whom God loves. We can disagree with someone while still extending the kind of gracious welcome that we ourselves have received from Christ.
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for welcoming and receiving me even when I have failed You. Give me the grace to welcome others with that same generous love. Help me see the people around me as those who bear Your image, even when we disagree. Amen.
