See Your Home Differently

Scripture: Ephesians 5:1–2

God’s renewing work changes the way we see the people closest to us. Our homes can easily become places where we expect our own needs to be met, where we seek comfort, or where we simply try to keep everything under control. But God gives us a larger vision: our homes can become places where His love is made known and His goodness is reflected.

This means seeing a spouse as someone made in God’s image and worthy of love and respect. It means seeing children not merely as people to manage or keep happy, but as God’s image bearers who can be shepherded toward maturity. It means asking not only, “What do I want from this relationship?” but also, “How can God’s love and goodness be reflected through me?” The gospel turns our attention outward.

Prayer:
Lord, renew the way I see the people in my home. Give me the humility to serve rather than simply seek my own comfort. Let my words, patience, forgiveness, and love make Your goodness visible to those closest to me. Amen.

Application Question:
What is one practical way you can make your home a place where someone else experiences the love and goodness of God today?
