What Is the Good Life?

Scripture: Romans 12:1–2

We all live toward some picture of what we think the “good life” looks like. Our habits, time, money, relationships, and choices often reveal what we believe will finally make us happy or secure. Paul reminds us that the world is constantly trying to shape that picture for us. Advertising, culture, and the people around us all compete for our attention and desires.

God’s Word gives us a better vision. Because of God’s mercy in Jesus, we no longer need to build our lives around comfort, recognition, control, or avoiding conflict. The Holy Spirit renews our minds so that we can see reality differently. The good life is found in receiving God’s mercy and giving ourselves to His purposes. We are invited to become living sacrifices—not because we must earn God’s love, but because His love has already been given to us in Christ.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, renew my mind by Your Word. Help me recognize the ways the world is shaping my desires, and give me a clearer vision of the life You have called me to live. Because of Your mercy, teach me to offer myself to You today. Amen.
