Hope You Cannot Yet See

Scripture: Romans 8:24–25

Reflection:
“For who hopes for what he already has?” Paul asks. Real hope, by definition, is for something not yet in hand. That’s uncomfortable, because we’d rather have certainty we can see and touch right now. But Paul says this is exactly the nature of saving hope — we are saved in hope, which means we live stretched forward, trusting what God has promised even before we hold it.

And where hope like this exists, patience follows. Not passive resignation, but active, expectant waiting — the kind that keeps working, keeps loving, keeps serving because it trusts the ending has already been secured by Christ’s resurrection. You don’t need to see the whole picture today. You need to trust the One who does.

Prayer:
Lord, it’s hard to hope for what I cannot see. Grow my patience and my trust. Let me wait on Your promises today, not with anxiety, but with quiet confidence in what You have secured through Christ. Amen.
