Creation Is Waiting, Too

Scripture: Romans 8:19–21

Reflection:
Even back in the Garden, right after everything fell apart, God planted a promise: an offspring of the woman who would crush the serpent and undo his work. That promise is why Jesus came, why He went to the cross, and why He rose again — to turn futility into hope. Paul says creation itself is straining forward, waiting eagerly, because it knows its liberation is tied to ours. When God’s children are fully revealed in resurrection glory, creation will be set free from its slavery to decay right along with us.

This gives your hope a much bigger shape than “someday I’ll feel better.” It means the whole created order — mountains, oceans, animals, your own body — is included in God’s plan of restoration. Nothing genuinely good will be lost. The new heavens and new earth are not an escape from this world, but its healing.

Prayer:
Father, I didn’t realize how big Your plan of restoration really is. Thank You that Your redemption reaches every corner of creation. Help me live today with that wider hope in view. Amen.
