Welcome Home

Scripture: Romans 3:29–31 (NASB)

“Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, since indeed God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith is one. Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law.”

Reflection

The God who justifies by faith is not the exclusive property of any one people, background, or tradition. Paul insists that the same God — the Father who gave his Son, the Judge who declares sinners righteous — is the God of all who believe. There is no ethnic, cultural, or moral prerequisite for coming home. Faith is the single doorway, and it stands open wide.

And this does not make a mockery of God’s Law — it actually confirms its purpose. The Law was never meant to save; it was meant to diagnose. It was meant to drive us toward the mercy seat, toward the One who alone can make us right. When we arrive there by faith, the Law has accomplished exactly what God intended. The story that began with an honest diagnosis ends with a homecoming. You were guilty, but the Father has forgiven you for Jesus’ sake. You were lost, but you have been found. You were far off, but you have been brought near. This is the gospel. This is your story. Welcome home.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank you that the door is open to everyone — including me. Thank you that your grace reaches across every boundary and finds the lost. Send me out today as someone who has been found, ready to point others to the mercy seat where all are welcome. In your name, Amen.
