The Gift of Sonship

Scripture: 1 John 3:1b

Reflection: The Father’s love is not a fickle feeling; it is a lavish gift bestowed upon us. We did not earn the title of “children of God,” nor do we deserve it. It is a status given purely out of His great love. This identity changes how we view ourselves and how we view the people sitting next to us in the pews. We are all recipients of the same unmerited grace, bound together as a family of saints.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the lavish love You have poured out on me. Help me to see myself and my fellow believers through Your eyes—as beloved children and saints. Amen.
