What Keeps Us Away?

Scripture: Luke 14:15-20

In Jesus’ parable, those who were invited to the feast began making excuses. Their reasons may have sounded understandable, but they allowed other things to become more important than the invitation they had received.

We can fall into the same trap. Our schedules fill with good things, our attention gets scattered, and we tell ourselves that we simply do not have the time. Yet God’s invitation is not an interruption to real life. It is an invitation into the life and joy we were made to receive.
Sometimes faithfulness means making room for God even when our calendars
are already full.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, forgive me for the ways I allow busyness and other priorities to crowd You out. Give me wisdom to recognize what matters most and courage to make room for You. Amen.

Application:
What good but less-important commitment or distraction might be keeping you from making time for God?
