Everything Belongs to God

Scripture: Psalm 24:1–2

The earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein.

The parable of the tenants reminds us of a simple but easily forgotten truth: God is the owner of everything. The vineyard belongs to Him. The tenants are entrusted with its care, but they never become the owners. In the same way, everything we have ultimately comes from God—our possessions, our abilities, our time, our bodies, and even our very breath.

It is easy to look around and think, “This is mine. I worked for it. I earned it.” Yet the Christian life begins by recognizing that we are stewards rather than owners. What God has entrusted to us is meant to be received with gratitude and managed according to His purposes.

Prayer:
Lord God, You are the maker and owner of all things. Help me remember that everything I have comes from Your gracious hand. Teach me to receive Your gifts with gratitude and to use them according to Your will. Through Jesus, my Savior, give me a faithful steward’s heart. Amen.

Application Question:
What is one thing you have been thinking of primarily as “mine” that you could intentionally begin viewing as a gift entrusted to you by God?
