A New Creation
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.”
One of the great gifts of repentance is that our past does not have to define our future. We may have made sinful choices, spoken hurtful words, or developed attitudes that are difficult to change. But in Christ, those things do not have the final say about who we are.
God’s forgiveness does more than remove our guilt. Through His Spirit, He is remaking us. The Christian life is a continuing journey of being turned back toward God. We can acknowledge where we have been wrong without believing that we are permanently trapped there. In Christ, there is freedom and new life on the other side of repentance.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You that my past sins do not define me. Continue to make me new by Your Spirit, and give me faith to live as the person You are making me to be. Amen.
Application:
What past failure or sinful pattern do you need to stop allowing to define you because of the new life Christ has given you?
