When Words and Actions Disagree
Scripture: Matthew 21:28–31
Jesus tells a story about two sons. One refuses his father’s request but later changes his mind and goes to work. The other says the right thing but never follows through. Jesus makes it clear that the first son’s actions ultimately reveal that he is carrying out his father’s will.
The parable challenges us to look beyond what we say. It is easy to speak about loving others, trusting God, or following Jesus. But Christian faith is meant to take shape in our daily lives. Our words matter, but God’s grace calls us toward faithful action as well.
Prayer:
Father, forgive me for the times when my words have been better than my actions. Give me a faith that shows itself in love, service, prayer, and trust. Amen.
Application:
What is one good thing you have said you want to do that God may be calling you to actually put into practice?
