The Persevering Love of Christ
Scripture: Romans 15:5
Perseverance is often associated with enduring hardship or persecution, but Paul applies it here to our relationships with one another, as well. Loving people means bearing with their weaknesses and difficulties. That can be hard, especially when relationships become awkward or frustrating.
Yet Jesus’ love for us perseveres. We stumble, fail, and fall, but He does not throw in the towel. His enduring love becomes the pattern and the source of our own love. In marriage, family life, friendships, and the church, God calls us to remain patient with one another and to trust His strength rather than our own.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for loving me with a love that does not quit. Give me patience with the weaknesses of others and perseverance when relationships become difficult. Help me reflect Your enduring love in the relationships You have placed around me. Amen.
