Encouraged by the Scriptures
Scripture: Romans 15:4
When relationships become difficult, we need more than our own determination. Paul reminds us that the Scriptures were written for our instruction so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
God’s Word reminds us of what is true when our feelings tell us otherwise. It tells the story of Jesus’ saving love, His welcome to sinners, His perseverance with His people, and His promise of new life and eternal glory. Scripture strengthens us to keep loving when love is difficult. The encouragement we receive from God’s Word becomes strength for the way we live with one another.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me Your Word to teach, encourage, and strengthen me. When I am weary or discouraged, draw me back to Your promises. Use Scripture to give me endurance and hope so that I may faithfully love the people around me. Amen.
Application:
What Scripture promise could you intentionally return to this week when you feel discouraged or frustrated?
