Help One Another in Jesus

Scripture: Romans 14:7–8

Reflection

Paul’s teaching does not mean that Christians should never speak into one another’s lives. Scripture calls us to encourage, sharpen, and help one another walk faithfully. But Romans 14 gives us an important way to do that: we help one another in Jesus and with Jesus.

Every Christian relationship is meant to be accompanied and empowered by Jesus and His Spirit. When frustration takes over, we may become passive-aggressive, controlling, or impatient. Remembering that the other person belongs to Jesus changes our posture. We approach them with greater humility, gentleness, and patience.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, remind me that the people around me belong to You. When I need to encourage or correct someone, give me gentleness and wisdom. Help me speak and act in a way that points people toward You rather than toward my own preferences. Amen.

Is there someone you need to encourage or correct? How could you approach that person more intentionally “in Jesus”?
