Living as People of Hope
Scripture: Romans 8:14–25 (full passage, in review)
Reflection:
So what do we do with hope like this while we wait? Paul’s answer, lived out through the rest of Scripture, is that we put our hope on display. We embrace our identity as the body of Christ — loving as He loved, serving as He served, and, when necessary, suffering as He suffered, all with confidence that our story ends in resurrection life like His. And we embrace our role as caretakers of God’s world right now: sharing the gospel and feeding the hungry, speaking of Jesus and caring for the sick, proclaiming forgiveness and extending mercy, tending the earth and its creatures because this world belongs to God and will one day share in resurrection glory too.
The creation groans. We groan. All is not well yet — but the day is coming. Your life, your labor, your love are not lived in vain. Christ is risen, and because He lives, you will too. That is the confident hope this whole passage calls you to hold onto, today and every day.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the hope of resurrection secured in Christ. Help me live today as a person of hope — loving, serving, caring for others and for Your world, while I wait for the day You make all things new. Amen.
