Hope Worship – February 18, 2024

The theme of testing or temptation runs through all of the readings today. In the Old Testament, it is Abraham being tested. In the Gospel, it is Jesus. In the Epistle, Christians in general are being addressed. Because Jesus has won the war – in the wilderness, at the cross, through His resurrection – we are strengthened to face our tests and to see them not simply as something unpleasant to be removed, but as opportunities to be brought to greater maturity as God’s children: humbled, trusting, patient, and gracious with others. Today’s message is “The Test.”
