Hope Worship – February 11, 2024

Today, we come to the finish and the climax of the Epiphany season – the light that broke into the world with Jesus’ arrival and baptism is dialed up in its intensity as He stands on the mountain with His closest disciples, shining in the brilliance of His Father’s glory. In this moment, we get to learn with Peter, James, and John what it means to listen to the Son – not simply as someone who speaks in harmony with the law and the prophets (represented by Moses and Elijah), but as the One who fulfills them and reveals God ultimately and finally. Our lives as the people of God do not find their center in “Jesus and…” but in Jesus alone (Mark 9:8).
